Shift Supervisor – 3rd Shift Oklahoma City, OK
The 3rd Shift Supervisor oversees all manufacturing operations during the overnight shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and quality-driven production of metal components. This role involves supervising production staff, managing workflows, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Shift Supervisor Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and lead production employees on the 3rd shift.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot equipment issues in coordination with maintenance.
- Conduct shift meetings, communicate company policies, goals, and expectations to the team.
- Train and mentor employees in safe and efficient work practices, proper equipment use, and production procedures.
- Enforce workplace safety rules and investigate/report all safety incidents and near misses.
- Perform quality checks and ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Track and report production metrics such as output, downtime, scrap, and labor utilization.
- Maintain proper documentation including shift reports, production logs, and personnel records.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, suggest process improvements, and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Serve as the point of contact for third-shift issues and communicate updates to the day shift and management.
Shift Supervisor Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal fabrication, machining, or related field.
- 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of safety standards (e.g., OSHA), quality control, and manufacturing procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, production software, etc.).
