Machinist Oklahoma City, OK
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist experienced in operating YCM Gantry machines and machining large aerospace components, specifically gantry-column machine parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace machining, be able to interpret and machine from SIM-released parts, and possess a deep understanding of large-format CNC operations in a precision-driven environment.
Machinist Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate YCM Gantry CNC machines to machine large aerospace parts to tight tolerances.
- Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and SIM-released parts for accurate machining execution.
- Machining large gantry-column parts and components in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace production environment.
- Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure quality standards, tolerances, and productivity targets are consistently met.
- Make machine offsets, tooling adjustments, and edits to programs as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and maintain cleanliness and organization of the machine work area.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and programmers to resolve machining issues and improve process flow.
- Document work performed, complete traveler paperwork, and adhere to internal quality and aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
Machinist Required Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience with a focus on large aerospace components.
- Hands-on experience operating and setting up YCM Gantry CNC machines or similar large-format gantry machines.
- Experience machining gantry-column machine parts or other large, complex workpieces.
- Demonstrated ability to work from SIM-released engineering documents and production packets.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace material types, machining practices, and close tolerance requirements.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, GD&T, and machining instructions.
- Ability to use and maintain precision measuring tools with a strong focus on quality and detail.
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or similar.
