Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of urgency in responding to all urgent calls.
- Complete all trouble response calls through documentation of work orders and downtime log.
- Ensure all startup and shutdown procedures for each department are completed in a proper and timely manner in accordance with company safety procedures/OSHA requirements.
- Communicate with Engineering Team Leaders, Production Managers, Production Associates, and fellow Engineers.
- Communicate with the Engineering Parts Coordinator to insure adequate parts inventories.
- Create a sense of urgency in the training and development of all new engineers.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment.
Maintenance Technician Skills and Requirements:
- 3-5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields are required.
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Tig and stick welding skills a plus.
- Computer experience/operation and an understanding of PLC operation are necessary.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects/repairs simultaneously.
- Knowledge of machining and assembly practices, tools, and fixtures
- High school diploma or its equivalent required.
- A two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is a plus.
- Ability to work in overhead structures, work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
- Ability to lift in-excess of 50lbs.
