Civil Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate activities involving improvement projects.
- Supervise the preparation and maintenance of all construction plans and engineering documents.
- Assist in preparing budgets and expenditures.
- Assist in determining the requirements of plans and reviewing the final plans on construction projects.
- Work with other companies to coordinate projects and regulations.
- Prepares plans and specifications regarding bidding documents and provides notice to bidders.
- Consults with other professional engineers and contractors regarding major projects.
- Provides technical assistance.
- Inspects developments to ensure that the approved plans, specifications, and standards are followed.
Civil Engineer Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively work or communicate with a variety of people.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to municipal programs.
- Knowledge of construction and maintenance methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to perform in an administrative capacity.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
- Experience in civil engineering.
- Experience with computerized drafting or mapping systems.
- Knowledgeable in survey practices, equipment and documents.
