Production Electrician Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, outlets, panels, and control systems in compliance with national and local codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and control panels.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond promptly to electrical issues on the production floor to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to support process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance work.
- Identify and report potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Production Electrician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program or technical training.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent (if required by local jurisdiction).
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing electrical role.
- Strong knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems, industrial controls, and NFPA 70E standards.
- Ability to use hand tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
